“Trolls” stars Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake worked their magic on the red carpet Sunday, (October 23rd, 2016.) The 31-year-old actress and star of “The Accountant” and 35-year-old singer attended the movie’s Los Angeles premiere in Westwood at the Regency Village Theatre.

Kendrick looked velvety smooth on the carpet and turned heads in a navy colored velvet mini-dress with sparkling embellishments and a tie neck. Timberlake, meanwhile, was uncommonly sedate and played it cool and casual in a navy blazer and pink shirt as he posed for the Media.

Zooey Deschanel, James Corden and Quvenzhané Wallis, among various other celebrants, were also in attendance at the kid-friendly event. Russell Brand, Gwen Stefani, Christine Baranski and Jeffrey Tambor all lend their voices to the Animated film but were missing from the red carpet.

Earlier this year, Kendrick revealed her reservations about the role at the San Diego Comic-Con, as reported by USA Today, specifically when she was told that Poppy is relentlessly upbeat. [beautifulquote align=”full” cite=””]I was like, ‘I think you’ve got the wrong girl,’ ” she said. “I couldn’t help but be a little off and psychotic, and they really embraced that. … We wanted to make her happy but not the kind of thing that you couldn’t stand for a 90-minute movie. She’s got layers. She’s messed up. She’s the kind of troll that I like.[/beautifulquote]

And Timberlake was a bit wary as well. His concern was being too cantankerous. But “it was more fun they were so polar opposites,” Timberlake says. “They get stuck together and hilarity ensues.” “It’s nice to be part of something that you put out in the world that makes people happy.” He told the crowd in San Diego.

Timberlake, who provides the voice of Branch, had the summer hit, ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ which is on the film’s soundtrack and he was also involved as the film’s musical producer.

Trolls opens in theaters Nov. 4. Kendrick will also star in ‘Table 19’ with Craig Robinson and ‘Pitch Perfect 3’ with Rebel Wilson and Anna Camp, while Timberlake is slated to appear in a new Woody Allen film.

About the Film:

From the creators of SHREK comes DreamWorks Animation’s TROLLS, a smart, funny and irreverent comedy about the search for happiness, and just how far some will go to get it. This hilarious film transports audiences to a colorful, wondrous world populated by the overly optimistic Trolls, who have a constant dance in their step and a song on their lips, and the comically pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have trolls in their stomachs.

After the Bergens invade Troll Village, Poppy (Kendrick), the happiest Troll ever born, and the overly-cautious curmudgeonly Branch (Timberlake) set off on a journey to rescue her friends. Together, this mismatched duo embarks on a rescue mission full of adventure and mishaps – trying to tolerate each other long enough to get the job done.

Utilizing music to further the film’s narrative, the TROLLS soundtrack is produced by Justin Timberlake and features five original songs including songs by Justin Timberlake, Ariana Grande, Anna Kendrick and Gwen Stefani, in addition to a number of classic hits from the ‘60s through the ‘80s.
