Many of the world’s biggest movie stars stepped out in Los Angeles on Monday night (April 23, 2018) for the star-studded premiere of Disney and Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War,” which brings together a plethora of the Marvel universe’s most popular beloved characters into one single highly-anticipated block-buster of a film.

The movie has been hailed as the studio’s most anticipated movie of the year due to its sheer magnitude in concept, film making execution and story line, which involves the Avengers and their allies uniting to fight their most powerful enemy yet.

Almost as impressive as the actual movie itself was the lineup of superheroes, supervillains, and everything in-between,  lighting up the purple carpet at the premiere. Heroes and villains co-mingled for the media including stars Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Holland, Evangeline Lilly, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Chris Hemsworth,  Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Benedict Cumberbatch, Sebastian Stan, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Zoe Saldana, Brie Larson, Tom Hiddleston, Josh Brolin, Vin Diesel, David Bautista and many more.

According to reports, before the screening began, Downey Jr., whose original “Iron Man” film kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe 10 years ago, gave an impassioned speech. In it, he paid tribute to Marvel Studios for its ingenuity to inter-mesh 19 films and counting within its cinematic universe. “This is a miracle,” the actor said. “And if any one of us took credit, it would be heresy. It would be blasphemy.”

Downey Jr. also honored his cast mates, who were beaming with pride and enthusiasm on stage. “The present is this moment of glory for all of us,” he mentioned. “And the future? That is always uncertain. But looking at these friends behind me, it seems like things might brighten up after all.”

“This is the MCU, right in front of you,” he continued. “It’s all about fighting for equality. The whole idea is to make space for others to succeed and exceed our expectations.”

“‘Infinity War’ was a team effort of all the Avengers and their allies,” Downey also said, adding that they were “all competing with each other” for the fans.

About the film:

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
