In an interesting galactic convergence, Emilia Clarke is heading to a galaxy far, far away from her familiar world of Game of Thrones… and she’s going to meet Han and Chewie along the way.
StarWars.com has just announced that Clarke, best known for her portrayal of Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, will join the upcoming untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie. Clarke’s role will round out a cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures.
Clarke joins Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover, previously announced as a young Han Solo and young Lando Calrissian, respectively. The highly-anticipated film is set prior to the original Star Wars trilogy.
The announcement comes via news release, but there are absolutely no details as to what role Clarke will be playing in this Star Wars spinoff.
The untitled Han Solo movie, to be co-directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, is set for release in 2018.
