Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling Make Their Mark In Real La La Land

La La Land co-stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone got down, and a little bit dirty, in the real life La La Land on Wednesday (December 7, 2016) during a hand and footprint ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theater on Hollywood Boulevard.

Just a day after the Los Angeles premiere of their critically acclaimed new movie musical, the film’s stars took on the dirty job of  planting their hands and shoes in wet cement in the historic courtyard of TCL Chinese Theatre.  With this honor, they join the ranks of Marilyn Monroe, Natalie Wood, Steve Mcqueen, John Travolta, Julie Andrews, Tom Hanks, Jane Fonda and Harrison Ford to name but a few.

Stone joked at the ceremony, [beautifulquote align=”full” cite=””]I moved to L.A. when I was 15 and came here, and my hands are an exact match for Jane Russell, so if you’re looking for a Jane Russell hand double, I’m your girl.[/beautifulquote] Gosling seemed incredulous as he told the crowd of family, friends and well wishers, “I’m not completely convinced that we’re not going to be arrested for vandalism. I’m going to take your word for it that we’re allowed to do this. We had an opportunity to shoot in most of Los Angeles’ iconic locations except for this (the Chinese Theater) so I guess this is the final piece to the puzzle. It’s a beautiful way to end this experience.”

The screen couple then finished the ceremony by engraving the cement with their signatures and their hand and footprints. Afterwards, Stone commented, “I brought an extra pair of shoes that will now and forever be ruined”.

La La Land to open in wide release on December 16,2016.
