Stars from the original film, Jeff Goldblum and Vivica Fox, were reunited on the red carpet for the world premiere of “Independence Day: Resurgence” in Hollywood, Monday (June 20, 2016). New additions to the cast, Liam Hemsworth and Joey King, also kicked off the promotional band-wagon for the action-packed sequel directed by Roland Emmerich whom, by the way, received Hollywood honors with his hand and footprints in cement on Monday as well.
The German film director, screenwriter, and producer, widely known for his disaster films, directed the original “Independence Day” in 1996 that became the first film to gross $100 million in less than a week and went on to become one of the most financially successful films of all time according to Box office Mojo.
Kudos to the stars of the film and guest attendees who braved the brutal 100 degree Los Angeles heat on the red carpet, and still managed to look great and seemed to take it all in stride.
