Dwayne Johnson, star of the new Paramount Pictures’ release “Pain & Gain”, was conspicuous by his absence Monday night (April 22, 2013) at the Los Angeles premiere held at TCL’s Chinese theater in Hollywood.

Johnson is reportedly out-of-commission due to a hernia as the 40 year old tweeted on Sunday, “Saw my Dr who had to push my intestines back thru the tear in my abdomen…”

According to WWE.com, “Dwayne Johnson, The Rock, Had Emergency Hernia Surgery After WrestleMania Clash With John Cena. Johnson, 40, met Cena in the ring on April 7, during a WWE Title defense match for WrestleMania 29. As a result of the confrontation, he suffered a fairly serious injury to his midsection.”

Johnson’s rep stated to EW that Johnson is home and recovering from the surgery.
