Tom Hanks has had a pretty good run over the years with Box Office earnings for his movies. But, while “The Da Vinci Code” was a mega-hit back in 2006, the follow-up “Angels and Demons” made significantly less on all fronts. Fast-forward to 2016…and now,” Inferno,” the third installment of the “Da Vinci Code” franchise looks to seal the fate of any future installments as it bombs. According to studio estimates Sunday, “Inferno” bombed with $15 million, about half of what more optimistic predictions anticipated. It seems that nobody really wanted a third Robert Langdon movie, and the film’s opening weekend punctuates that sentiment.
