The “invisible plane” landed on Hollywood Boulevard as Gal Gadot, star of the upcoming “Wonder Woman” movie, joined forces with Lynda Carter, who played the superhero in the ’70s action series, at the premiere of the film in Hollywood. Held at the Historic Pantages Theatre on Thursday, (May 25, 2017), Gadot, 32, wore a sparkling red Givenchy cutout dress from the Fall 2017 collection, while Carter, 65, sported a black and white Max Mara pantsuit… and it seems that it was a proverbial love fest on the red carpet.

Carter, the Classic TV Wonder Woman, was herself tied-up by the “Lasso of Truth” and spoke to ET on the red carpet and asked how she’s been getting along with Gadot. “Yes I am the bearer of the torch and now I’m passing it forward. I couldn’t wait to meet Gal and you know this is, Wonder Woman belongs to you. She’s there (points to her heart), she’s here, and I understand that. We have become friends and I am just thrilled to be here”

The feeling seemed to be mutual and Gal Gadot couldn’t be more thrilled for the experience. “I just love her very much, and I just think she is just such a special woman. It’s always great to see her, especially tonight where she is going to see the movie for the first time and my heart goes like (taps chest)”.

When asked if she was ready to represent the hero like Carter has all these years, Gadot said “I’m there. I’m already there. Definitely. Lynda already thanked me for sharing the burden with her (laughs), and I’m up to it.”

When asked how she was feeling in anticipation of the screening, Carter said: “I can’t breathe” (laughs).

Also on hand for the premiere were Gadot’s co-stars Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, Danny Huston as well as invited guests including Amy Pemberton, Juliana Harkavy, Caity Lotz,
Tito Ortiz, Kellan Lutz, Danielle Panabaker and many more.

About the film:

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat.  Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

“Wonder Woman” opens nationwide on Friday, June 2, 2017.  For more visit www.wonderwomanfilm.com
